Scrolling

Scrolling

still scrolling.

A kaleidoscope of brilliance,

Colors, an explosion of joy,

A cacophony of other lives.

Scrolling

Scrolling

still scrolling.

Moments smear

into baseness.

Hotel pools, and umbrella'd drinks

chase flowers and Feminism.

Scrolling

Scrolling.

Statements churn

into a dam of screams.

Positivity and presence

demand singular fierceness.

Me, me, me. Always me.

A coiling in the base of my stomach.

Scrolling

Scrolling

Not you, it hisses

Not yet.

Not ever, it hisses

Not enough.

Insidiously it snakes through my spine.

Scrolling,

rising.

Scrolling,

rising.

Until.

A breath caught.

Enough.
