You. You ran through my heart

keeping it open

pouring all the Love

out, in witness

in honor

Tears fall like raindrops,

jewels spattering on a thirsty plain.

Pain, tiredness, grief

run through the threads

of this communal heart.

Strong, made gentle

through steady stitches,

rows of love.

Messy, straight, quiet or bold

strings, broken pieces hidden.

It came together

to capture it all - us all.

To hold – and release - us

to the world.

     Born anew.
