You step into your office and check your email. No new inquiries. You pop over and check your social accounts. Two likes trickled in overnight to your post. Your open rate to your last newsletter was in the mid-thirties; your click rate barely registers on the chart. You look at your calendar for the week. Not much going on at all.

I was recently doing a market interview, part of a reciprocal agreement with a new business owner. She got to talking about spreadsheets, and goal tracking, and started throwing in a few project managements terms like resource allocation and Gantt charts, and then stopped herself, laughing a little apologetically, from “nerding out.”

I told her I loved it when people nerd out. Especially authentic business owners.
