Navigating Change with Your Business

Navigating Change with Your Business

As I undergo a lot of personal transition, I’ve been thinking of the many ways in which your business may change throughout its existence and how, to remain healthy, your relationship with your business also then must shift.

Change in your business can feel scary. After all, you’ve probably already invested time, love, care or resources in it. Maybe all those things. And perhaps that investment has been significant.

Shifting feels uncertain.

On the one hand, you might be feeling excited by all the possibilities. There are new directions to head in, new clients to connect with perhaps, and you’re welcoming the transition.

On the other hand, you worry. You might be wondering…

What Should I Write About? Finding Great Content Topics

What Should I Write About? Finding Great Content Topics

You try to create regular content - like writing articles or making videos - but lately, you’ve been hitting a wall. Perhaps your mind dismisses every topic that arises or maybe you find yourself staring at the screen or busying yourself with tidying your desk or cleaning out the junk drawer.

What’s going on here? There could be a number of things. You might still be unclear about your marketing's foundation. Or you might have a strong Inner Critic, worrying if anyone will like it or that you have nothing new to say.

There is something else, though, that often trips up coaches, healers or other creative entrepreneurs …

Building Your Business

Often when coaches, healers and other creatives market and build their businesses, there are so many people telling them what they have to do and how they  have to do it. Some advice might be built on the principles of authentic marketing and could offer good guidelines, but other things, not so much. They might be built the misguided idea that this technique worked for them so it will work for you too or it could be built on the premise of marketing as manipulation.

When something feels off, take time with your heart to distill what's going on. Ask yourself - what doesn't feel good? Perhaps there's a thought that you're believing that's not true. Maybe you need to learn something more before moving ahead or you need some help. It could be your own inner knowing telling you something important about how your deeper self wants to relate to your marketing and growing your business.

You can trust that knowing. It's there for you.

Your Marketing: The Power of Showing Up and Many Small Steps

Your Marketing: The Power of Showing Up and Many Small Steps

One year ago, I held my first writing coworking session. We were in the first few months of the pandemic and I was frustrated. As much as I wanted to use all that "extra time" for my creative writing, I wasn't. I was doing anything but.

Here's what I was doing instead. I was worrying. I was doom scrolling. I was eating. I was waiting for it to be over.

I was not writing.

I suddenly had an idea. What if I set aside an hour a week to write, and, instead of writing by myself, I would intend to write with others?

I decided to try it as an experiment…
