Trouble Finalizing Your Content? Get Clear on Its True Purpose

You’re working on a piece of content, say your blog post, and it’s not getting done. You’re working on it, sure, but you notice you want to make your blog post good. I mean, really good.

You have a decent topic, something you want to share with folks, and yet you’re having trouble finalizing it. You keep thinking of different, better, wittier, or more creative ways to express the idea.

You’re having fun, you insist. You like writing creatively!

There’s something that a lot of coaches, healers and creative entrepreneurs struggling to finish content pieces might not immediately realize Writing articles or blog posts has a particular marketing purpose for your business…

Dissonant Marketing: What It Is and How to Avoid It

Dissonant Marketing: What It Is and How to Avoid It

Have you ever received a piece of marketing that made you feel, well, off somehow?

Recently, I went to check out the website of this well-known spirit-guide. Her site is gorgeous and has this fun interactive oracle reading tool you can click on. To get the results, you enter your email address in.

Once I hopped back to my inbox, I found a somewhat generic yet well-designed interpretation of my “reading.” The problem started the next day, when I started receiving additional emails from her.

It wasn’t the frequency of the emails that was bothersome. It was the dissonance between the message in the email and the ‘marketing’ tactics built around it that left a bad taste in my mouth.

Building Your Business

It took me a long time to realize how important joy is to creating something beautiful. It seems obvious, right? It's difficult to feel creative inspiration and be moved forward without joy. But the culture tends to focus (and bestow rewards on) discipline, push, hustle. It promises that if you do all these things, you can make it happen.

Creating your own business, one that is strong and sustainable, is one of the greatest creative acts I can think of. And trying to do that without joy may, in the short run, yield some results. But in the long run, what will you be left with?

Take a minute to look around you. See where in your business you have joy already, and where, maybe, you might need a little more and intend to allow more joy in.

I promise you if you do, you'll be amazed at what starts blooming.

Feeling Behind Growing and Developing Your Business

Feeling Behind Growing and Developing Your Business

“I feel so behind!”

It’s something I regularly hear from some coaches, healers, and other creative entrepreneurs. They feel a lot of pressure to get their businesses up and running or to get the basics in place, so their business run better.

Some of this feeling is born of a real desire to help and serve.

There are so many problems in the world today. So many people are hungry for help. It can be hard to wade through what can sometimes feel the slog of setting up your business fundamentals while people need you.

But there's often something else at play when I hear people say they’re feeling behind…
